Life in England...Lessons Learned
Submitted by Bballmo2 on Sun, 2007-01-21 12:24.
I came here on a whim. On a mission to continuing playing basketball. In the process I have met some wonderful people and have some great memories. I will leave in about 4 months with my Masters in Finance & Accounting and even more determination to achieve my dream of getting paid to basketball. I have learn some things on the court: Frustation is never good - playing with players who aren't experienced as I am only makes me a better player. You won't always agree with your coaches - never met a coach I felt I conflicted with until I came here. I have learned that coaching is not my job yet!! Refs sux in every country - LOL Enjoy it now because soon it will be over - I realize I can't play forever, thoughts have crossed my mind that MAYBE its time to get a REAL job, but I still have one more thing accomplish...I'm not done with basketball just yet! ~1~ Mo-Jo

Interesting story!
Did the team help you continue your studies or did you take care of that on your own? That is great you were able to meet so many people and learn new things. When does the season end over there?
Good luck with everything
Thanks!
I did it on my own. Even my family was like how you going just pick up and go like that... I wanted to get my Masters anyway and struggled to decide whether to give up bball and go do the Masters or just focus on bball and put school on hold. This gave me the opportunity to do both... I'm out of here in May...Thank God. I'm tired of school.
Basketball for Uni end in a few weeks.
Basketball for National League end in March or April.
"Work in progress..." ~jj~ Mo
Congratulations!
