treg81's blogOffseasonWell I messed around and played a little bit of ball earlier this year in the local league. Like I said earlier in previous blogs it is all outdoor concrete courts back here in St.kitts the level of competition isn't that good, a few players can ball but most lack fundamentals. Unfortunately the championship winning club that I left to return to college a few years ago was dismantled, but if it the offseason now and I got my old back court buddy at home and we are reorganising our team and starting to workout. He is coming off a knee injury but it is nice to have some one who play with the same intensity as I do. My Return HomeReturn Home in December 2004 to find the state of Basketball worste than when I left. The goverment still is not taking Basketball seriously. The is still not an indoor gym in the Federation, yet they are investing millions in soccer and cricket which is still failing to produce any quality results I teach/coach at a local high school and find there is a lot of unmanaged talent on this island. Something must be done soon I am currently working on getting a couple of players into the University of Maine at Fort Kent my old school coaches are really interested and it could be a very special relationship that could reap great rewards in the Future. |
