Some days ago, we discovered that the ABA playoff game between the West Texas Whirlwinds and the Georgia Gwizzlies won' t be played at all, because the Whirlwinds will not be able to travel till Macon, Georgia. This allows the Atlanta Vision to qualify directly to the ABA Final 8. Today, we learn that the Halifax Rainmen aren' t anymore members of the league, effective immediately. This all means that the active ABA teams are now barely 15, and is another, clear 'desease symptom' of this league, that is opening its 'All-Star Weekend' tomorrow. We would hope that the league officials, that surey will meet in Barre, will be able to study a 'rescue plan' for the American Basketball Association, finally deciding to stop adding new franchises and pointing on a limited group of well organized teams, that can restore the playing level and the upstanding organization of the old ABA....
