New name, new life for WBA
Submitted by BigBoss on Thu, 2008-03-20 15:57.
While the USBL has thrown the towel, the other spring minor league, the WBA, announced a change of name and a stronger restart for the 2008 season. The new league name is "WBA Pro Basketball League" and the new owner is Leroy Mc Math, who will keep the organization based in Atlanta, Georgia. The WBA main score will be to teach, develop, and expose basketball players to NBA, NBDL, CBA, and International Scouts. Current franchises include Jackson, TN, Gwinnett, GA, Biloxi, MS, Macon, GA, Birmingham, AL, Marietta, GA, Holly Spring, MS, Anderson, SC, Murfreesboro TN, and Memphis, TN. As we have yet anticipated, the first act of the re-born WBA will be its annual Free Agent Camp on April 11-12th , 2008 at Life University in Marietta, Georgia. The camp will be conducted to give prospective players an opportunity to be exposed to the 10 teams in the WBA. A free agent selection draft will be held directly following the camp to allocate the top prospects.
