ABA TO RETURN TO SOUTH CHICAGO NEXT SEASON

Indianapolis, IN -- The American Basketball Association announced that the league would resume play in South Chicago starting next season. According to Joe Newman, ABA CEO, "Chicago could be/should be one of the best ABA cities. The basketball talent in Chicago is terrific; we just need the right owner - and we've found him in Coach Hicks. We are very confident that he will be very successful."

The ownership group will be led by Ronald Hicks, former Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Triton College and Head Men's Basketball Coach at Illinois Institute of Technology. Coach Hicks has also coached in France and Sweden. Very well known in the Chicago area as a 2 year high school All American, All-State and All City teams, he was an NJCAA All-American at Northern Illinois University and is currently in the sporting goods business.

"I have played and coached for ten years abroad as well as in the US. But I have always wanted to own and operate a professional sports team," said Hicks. "Being given this opportunity by the ABA is a dream come true. I know that there have been some problems in Chicago before. But my partners and I are up to the task, we know what it will take to be successful and will do everything in our power to be among the best in the ABA. You can bank on that."
