CAROLINAS FURY JOINS GLOBAL BASKETBALL ALLIANCE FOR 2008 SEASON!
(Orangeburg, South Carolina) (January 04, 2008)- The Carolinas Fury, formerly the Orangeburg Krazy Kats, have been accepted as a member of the GBA-the Global Basketball Alliance, LLC, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.
”We were ready to continue to play in a semi-professional basketball league when I was informed the GBA had restructured for the 2008 season and were seeking teams in this region,” states Carolinas Fury Principal Brian D. Combs. “It is my opinion that the GBA and its Managing Member Don “Moose” Lewis have the best developmental basketball league with the dollar value out there today. The GBA is a league that truly cares for its teams, players, and the community they play in. I was both surprised and pleased with what they had to offer and particularly impressed with their profit sharing program for teams.
Teams in the GBA are regionalized and the schedule takes advantage of multiple teams in a division that drastically reduces travel. All teams play a twenty-four (24) game balanced schedule with games played predominantly on weekends and a one game championship between division winners. The season runs from May through July. Teams expected in the Fury’s division include Atlanta, Georgia; Fayetteville, North Carolina; Wilmington, North Carolina, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and Hickory, North Carolina. The Fury will play their twelve (12) home games at the “Southern Gymnasium” in Orangeburg, South Carolina proper.
Says Mr. Combs in closing, “With the rivalries in the southeast that we will have, I urge any player wishing to further his career and gain valuable experience to contact me. Any person who has a team or wants to fulfill their dream of sports team ownership in a league of talented players with sound management should inquire about joining the GBA-as long as they do not mind finishing in second place.”
