Sports Bio

Grade 8
Started playing basketball at the age of 15 under the Coach of Brian Dewald of BISS. In this year I was to endure ups and downs as a player who just picked up basketball
and made the Junior Varsity at grade 8. It was a hard season because I had to pick up most of the fundamentals quick in-order to get playing time even though it was not much.
As the season ended I felt that I needed more learning as I then followed up a signing into the Sports Beijing Basketball Camp with this Camp I learnt what it was meant to become
a leader. As the camp ended I still wanted to learn more about this new game of basketball I had discovered I enjoyed, so in the summer I went to a play ground more the expat boys
would go to show case there game. As I was young amongst the boys there I never really got much playing time that year but the time I did get I hustled for ever possession and tried to help
the team win even if it even just setting picks for my team mates.

Grade 9
My second year there was a bit of change I got into the senior team (Varsity) of my school and there I was picked 15th out of 15 boys on the team. This meant on the sub rotation I would be the 10th man to be subbed into the game. Over the first month of the season the coach (Mr Phil Farrol) kept re-ordering the roster by the end of the first month I moved from 15th to 9th as the extra 5 players of the teams where cut and placed on the Junior team. As a member of the senior team the work load was hard and the play team was given to those who truly wanted to be there. My court time this year was about 10 minutes per game with scoring about 6 points on a average contest. In the playoffs we met schools which where bigger and stronger then our team as a result our starting point guard was injured
and I had to replace him in the game for 3rd and 4th place. Loosing that game taught me a lesson about basketball, the lesson was one should never give up and this sort of motto is what I hold on till now.

Grade 10
My third year was In a bigger school since I moved for a better education and a better basketball experience. Over the summer of my last season for 2 months i worked day in and out in-order to become better and that paid of in my try outs of the 3rd year as I was picked 2nd out of 158 boys who came to try out. That season was the beginning of a brighter me in basketball. The coach of my old school moved to the school I was in as well and he acted as my personal trainer if I may say, his help helped me learn more offensive moves and defensive ones as well. This Season we went as a 29-3 it was a fantastic season as we entered the conference finals we went all out and won it. As we went into regionals we found another team who had the same track record as us and this team was the only team to stand in our path of glory but as the all stories end we prevailed that final game with that school and it was my privilege to shoot the game winning jumper.

Grade 11
As I was entering my junior year of High School basketball became a path i wanted to pursue together with education. Being invited by a team in BLCU- Beijing and Language Cultural University to participate in there team (International Students basketball league) I took the role as second string point guard and averaged about 11 points 4 assists a game this was short lived as my own schools (High school) basketball season was to start so I took the role of captain from my ex-team mate and lead the team in a rocky season of 12-9 entering the playoffs as one the bottom teams we where afraid of the competition but the fear was pushed out us as we role past every team on our way to victory.

Grade 12
In my senior year I took the role of captain again and this year we are working hard to make the play offs as a team now we are 6-3 and its shows that we are on the right track thanks to Coach Lalic who is not only a coach but a friend and advisor to me. This year I have seen as the team comes back for the second time together (with not much change in the first 7 players) we still have the chemistry we had the pervious year during the end of the season. Hoping to see the team come about and get a better record then last year.
